We are delighted to have been recognised as one of the Top 100 social enterprises in the NatWest SE100 Index 2022 – for the second year running!
The NatWest SE100 Index was devised in 2010 by Pioneers Post and NatWest to recognise and reward the leading 100 social enterprises across the UK each year.
The Top 100 are judged on a wide range of criteria – from the growth and sustainability of their businesses to the innovation and resilience they have demonstrated and the social impact they have delivered.
Micro Rainbow supports over 1,000 LGBTQI people fleeing persecution every year. We do so by implementing a holistic approach to integration that has three main pillars: the provision of safe housing, social inclusion activities and employability support.
Sebastian Rocca, Founder and CEO of Micro Rainbow said:
This recognition comes at a time when we are facing multiple challenges: from managing the impact of COVID-19 which saw the number of our beneficiaries double, to the return to power of the Taliban in Afghanistan to the war in Ukraine. But we do not feel powerless: we can offer 22,000 bed-nights a year to homeless LGBTQI asylum seekers, one-to-one case work to LGBTQI Afghans and much more. This award boosts our spirits to continue to fight for equality of LGBTQI people everywhere”.
Additionally, we were thrilled that Micro Rainbow was shortlisted for the Equality Award in the company of five other inspirational organisation. The award is given to social enterprises leading by example and inspiring others to embed equity, equality, diversity and inclusion into their organisations and their work in local communities.
