​Join this dance intensive with the Body and Movement team in Birmingham on the 8th and 15th October (11.30am-6pm each day)

The Creative Project will span over two consecutive Sundays in the dance studio, and it will be a playful exploration of movement and photography. We will play physical theatre/dance games, improvise with props and fabric (tissue and rope), and move together as a group and solo. Each day will include warm up movement practice, creative tasks, storytelling, sharing and food!

We will play with our bodies as landscapes, tools for connections, with props, and set up some key moments and snapshots to be captured as photographs. This project will be a fantastic opportunity to connect with the team and yourselves, share stories of connections, to be curious about props and objects can help to transport us into visual narratives and physical abstractions.

We will be joined by a Kate, a professional photographer, and all images produced will remain anonymous (faces hidden). You are welcome to take part in the creative project and opt out of being photographed. We will ask you to complete a consent form to tell us what you are comfortable with. As always, we want to enjoy dancing, playing and making something beautiful together in a safe, supported, non-judgmental and creative environment.

We will use the photographic content from the project to be shared in the following ways:

• We will share it with Micro Rainbow beneficiaries and staff.
• We will share it with our funders and invited guests (Micro Rainbow family and friends)
• It may be shared on the internet, including on the Micro Rainbows website.
• In social media posts.
• In Project Evaluations to share the outcomes from the project.

No dance or creative experience is required for the project. If you have any specific access needs, please make a member of the MR Team aware of this.

This event takes place over two consecutive Sundays; each day starts at 11.30am and finishes at 6pm.

Especially for LGBTQI asylum seekers and refugees. Refreshments and travel provided.
