Understanding LGBTQI: Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Pronouns
This CPD accredited training lasts 1.5 hours and is ideal for anyone who wants to become more LGBTQI inclusive within their organisation, community or profession.
With this training you will increase your knowledge about gender identity, gender expression and sexual identity. You will explore terminology, the use of pronouns and challenge your own behaviours. The training has practical examples and tips for each topic and will increase your confidence in treating LGBTQI people with respect.

Challenges Faced by LGBTQI Asylum Seekers in the UK
This CPD accredited training lasts 1.5 hours and is ideal for anyone who directly supports LGBTQI asylum seekers or wants to increase their awareness.
In this training session, you will learn about some of the challenges and barriers faced by LGBTQI people fleeing persecution in their home countries and claiming asylum in the UK. We will consider a trauma-informed approach to supporting LGBTQI asylum seekers.

This CPD accredited training lasts 1.5 hours and is ideal for organisations or individuals who want to make their space more accessible to LGBTQI people.
In this training session, you will learn about ways to improve psychological safety and inclusion for LGBTQI+ people in your workplace. There will be opportunities to reflect on what your work environment is doing well and what more could be done to further develop a sense of inclusion. You will also learn about hate crime, LGBTQI-phobia and protections against these.

Addressing Housing Needs for LGBTQI Asylum Seekers and Refugees
This CPD accredited training lasts 1.5 hours and is ideal for professional doing frontline work with LGBTQI asylum seekers, working in housing and homelessness or for any individual or organisation that wants to increase their knowledge on the subject.

Guiding Interpreters: Supporting LGBTQI Asylum Seekers and Refugees
In this training session, interpreters will increase their knowledge and confidence in using LGBTQI related terminology, understanding the issues faced by LGBTQI asylum seekers and refugees, and understand how their role can impact outcomes for asylum seekers.
- Have an appropriate basic understanding of what it means for a person to be LGBTQI (within specific local contexts). Understand how this relates to identity, sexuality and relationships, as well as to gender roles and gender non-conforming behaviour or appearance. This includes a basic understanding of issues such as being ‘out’ or being ‘closeted’, and some grasp of the specific social, identity and (mental) health issues relevant to LGBTQI people.
- Have an appropriate basic understanding of what it means for a person to be transgender, and how this relates to identity, gender roles and gender non-conforming behaviour or appearance, as well as how it relates to (perceived) sexual orientation. This includes a basic understanding of gender dysphoria, commonly used medical treatments, and some grasp of the specific social, identity and (mental) health issues relevant to trans people.
- Be able to understand, differentiate between, and use appropriately the relevant terminology
- Have a basic understanding of the main issues LGBTQI people may face across countries, and the obstacles they may experience in the enjoyment of their human rights.
