Creative dance, costume and film project – London

Creative dance, costume and film project London- Saturday and Sunday 20 & 21 May 11:30am - 6pm, NB: LGBTQI asylum seekers and refugees only

Join this dance intensive with the Body and Movement team in London on 20th and 21st May (11.30am-6pm each day)

20 May 2023 @ 11:30 am 21 May 2023 @ 6:00 pm

“Identity for me is all about Individuality, Always Fabulous, Fearless and Flawless, the original and unique me” – Twiggy

The Creative Project is a chance to explore our identity and alter ego through the creation of costume, masks, headwear, dance, discussion, and play.  We want to make a world where we can be exactly and unapologetically who we are, and decide how we show ourselves to the world.

You will get to dance with the Micro Rainbow creative team, and also have a workshop with the iconic Drag Artist Twiggy. We will be inspired by Twiggy and their creations to develop our own ideas for costume, masks, and head wear that we will use and bring  into our dance and movement.

Over these days we will create a short film to celebrate our work. It will be filmed by Sam in ways that will protect identity if needed. Although the project will be working towards the film, you are welcome to take part in the creative project and opt out of being filmed. We will ask you to complete a consent form to tell us what you are comfortable with. As always we want to enjoy dancing, playing and making something beautiful together in a safe and creative environment.

Two-day session; each day starts at 11.30am and finishes at 6pm.

Especially for LGBTQI asylum seekers and refugees. Refreshments and travel provided.

Please download and fill in this consent form, and return it to to [email protected] to let us know that you would like to take part in this exciting session. If you have any access needs, please reach out and we will do our best to accommodate you.
